TEPA’s Air Quality monitoring program objectives are:
-
- Collect data about air quality conditions that affect members of the Hoopa Valley Indian Reservation
- Reduce risk to the health of the Hoopa community from poor air quality conditions;
- Promote the health, social welfare, and economic well-being of the Hoopa Valley Tribe.
For specific air quality indicators and health protection actions, see the Smoke Health Protection Plan.

Indoor Air Quality
Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) refers to the air quality within and around buildings and structures, especially as it relates to the health and comfort of building occupants. Understanding and controlling common pollutants indoors can help reduce your risk of indoor health concerns. – USEPA
Wildfires and Indoor Air QualityDuring a wildfire, smoke can make the outdoor air unhealthy to breathe. Some of the smoke from outdoors can enter your home and make it unhealthy to breathe indoor air, too. Reduce your exposure to wildfire smoke inside your home.
